Worthless piece of crap and the support is even worse!!!! I recommend absolutely nobody to order anything from this company if you do not want to be scammed. There’s other companies out there offering wireless carplay adapters that actually work.
This just doesn't work. Support is nonexistent and they actually want you to send it back for a "restocking" fee. Avoid this dodgy company!

Been using theCarPlay2Air adapter with my 2020 Toyota Aygo since October 2020 and have to say it works perfectly, I've had none of the issues that many reviewers mention. Since it's working well I don't plan to do any update on the basis of "it ain't broke so don't fix it"
WARNING: Do not buy this product or waste your time trying to get it to work
- Does not function as advertised even for a car that is listed as fully supported
- Risks corrupting the car’s infotainment system (dash screens go black and don’t recover immediately after shutting off car, waiting period, and restart engine/electrical accessories)
- Product support is limited to warranty period even if initial issues were identified from start (1 year)
DETAILS:
I purchased the CarPlay2air product in early 2020 for my 2016 Honda Accord EX (explicitly listed as supported advice). Initially, I upgraded the to the latest firmware and saw it working, but I quickly learned that this does not last more than 5 or 10 minutes.
Problems I still experienced after 1 year sending in support evidence included...
- Map freeze ups (map stopped updating image) and pixelation
- Screen freeze ups (lower Infotainment screen becomes unresponsive)
- Screen goes black (lower screen goes completely black, all controls unresponsive)
- Car's Infotainment system freezes up (BOTH screens blink, freeze, unresponsive and go to black)
The above issues usually occur in progression. The only resolution that worked was to pull over, turn off the car, wait at least 10 seconds and then turn it back on without the CarPlay2air device plugged in.
Significant concern was that simply unplugging the CarPlay2air device was not enough to resolve the issue. Instead, it appeared to have corrupted the functioning of the infotainment system beyond removing the CarPlay2air device, requiring one to turn off the car, wait and turn it back on to return to full functionality of the car’s infotainment system.
Most concerning was that the non-functional Infotainment system sometimes persists even after turning the car back on (both screen remained completely black; or partial display on upper screen with periodic returning to black as if trying to reboot itself though some issues). The good news that in these cases, eventually the infotainment system functionality did come back after more cycles of turning off the car for longer periods of time, then restarting the vehicle.
Clearly, this is not a fully functional product as well as it even raises concerns about permanent damage to the car’s infotainment system. Since I have professionally worked in product firmware development, I felt that I could help the CarPlay2air development team by providing specific evidence of my issues.
Over 1 full year of owning the product, I spent many hours collecting objective evidence (created videos of infotainment system by occasionally mounting a camera in my car) and sending it into the company to then wait for a newer version of the device firmware only to find the same issues remained and having to collect more evidence and send it in. My effort even included taking my car in for dealer service to make sure I had the latest infotainment firmware version.
My final straw was this last week, when I upgraded to a new firmware version that resulted in my device is now reporting a permanent Hardware Error. When I contacted Support they responded with…
Upon checking, your adapter is no longer under the warranty period.
At this point, we can no longer process a replacement.
When I pressed them since I have been graciously submitting video evidence trying to resolve the same issue for over 1 year, they then offered a 10% discount for new hardware.
I strongly recommend not trusting this product nor hoping that their support team will resolve any issues you may experience.
I have orderd the device by end of November 2020 and according to tracking it says delivered 22nd DEC 2020 but i did NOT get the device and wasn’t even at home. CPLAY2air support is absolutely useless. I checked multiple times with Hermes but they say i need to get in touch with the seller and the seller is useless. multiple e-mails but none of them are useful….
This company is a complete rip off. Parcel never arrived and they state that they are looking into an investigation with the courier. They cannot provide evidence and tracking says still in transit. Doing everything they can to not refund. Complete fraudsters. Will be escalating to legal departments after formally requesting a refund was rejected.
The product does not work as advertised, and the company deletes any reviews lower than three stars on their website. Ever wonder how their product can be rated 4.9 out of 5 stars on their site? Sort the reviews from lowest to highest and your will see no one or two star reviews. I posted a 1 star review that magically never appeared.
The product doesn’t work on 2020 Chevrolets and the company is deceptive.
DO NOT BUY !
The item keeps disconnecting, on a 20min ride it disconnected 4x all the time. Contacted them 16 days later and they said I'm no longer qualify for a refund, but no worries the can replace the item. Just return the item back to us at my cost that will be over $70.already it costed me $170 for a piece of junk. On one email they asked me to return it somewhere in China so I opened a case with PayPal and they agreed to give me a full refund but ship it back to Varėna, Lithuania with tracking over $80 what a scam.
Couldn't get it to work despite working with support, downloading an update, doing a factory reset on my car, verifying I had the latest firmware , sending videos of what was happening, etc. I was told I needed to return it to China at my own cost and possibly be charged a $25 "restocking fee" if they deemed there is nothing wrong with the unit. I am in Australia with a modern Kia Sportage with Apple Car Play so should not have been a problem. My car model was listed as supported. Also it is strange that they have changed their website to cplay2air.com (previously carplay2air.com) after I purchased. It might have been a copyright issue or they were just getting too many negative reviews.
Be extremely careful ordering from this company. Ordered and "Shipped" back in August, still hasn't been received. Company offer no help, so chargeback proceedings initiated with my bank.
This company market as though they are in the USA, but are in fact based in China, and shipping from China. Avoid please!
!! Do not buy from this company !!
I bought an adapter from this company to my, according to them, compatible Car.
The adapter they send me was broken from the time I received it, I have spent hours with their support which in the end told me that the product was broken.
Now they want me to pay more than $50 to refund it to China, and cheat the custom clearings by valuing the prodcut lower than the actually price.
It's a US based company, but they refuse to tell you that they send their product from china.
The product can be bought with another name on the adapter for less than the half price from the same factorys that make this one.
Do NOT buy from this company! If any problems appears, you will be left with a demand to pay more than the products worth in fees and shippingcosts!
Worthless piece of crap and the support is even worse!!!! I recommend absolutely nobody to order anything from this company if you do not want to be scammed. There’s other companies out there offering wireless carplay adapters that actually work.
Product does not work correctly!!
Massive delay on hands free. Siri button on car does not work when this is in use. Steering wheel buttons stopped working.
Told technical about the problems, I was having and I did some updates. Still had the same problems. They would NOT give refund and was told I would have to pay myself to return the faulty item to get a replacement.
DO NOT BUY!!!
